The unofficial kickoff to summer 2016 is just days away! Memorial Day weekend is all about kicking back and cooking out with friends and family while enjoying the warm weather. If you're hosting a barbecue this weekend, we know it can be tough to keep the kids satisfied while also keeping them healthy.
We've rounded up a couple of tooth-friendly and delicious recipes to try cook up for the kids this weekend. Enjoy!
Chicken and Pineapple Skewers: Trade in the hot dogs and burgers for delicious and healthy chicken and pineapple skewers. Their teeth will reap the benefits!
Rainbow Salmon Skewers: We know the thought of salmon may not be all that appealing to children, however, these skewers may change their mind. Both salmon and veggies have many wonderful tooth-friendly benefits!
Tomato and Cucumber Quinoa Salad: Instead of a pasta salad or potato salad, try serving a quinoa salad instead. Quinoa is jam packed with fiber, calcium, and vitamins. Paired with vegetables, this is a healthy go-to summer salad.
Red, White and Blue Parfaits: When it comes to desserts, it's hard to find something that will satisfy your little ones sweet tooth but that is nutritious as well. These red, white, and blue fruit parfaits are not only patriotic, but they're healthy, too!
From all of us here at Pediatric Dentistry of Suffolk County, we hope you have a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day weekend!
