Teething can be a painful and frustrating process for both parents and babies. However, there are a few things parents can do to help ease their child's pain and sooth their gums. Check out a few tips below.

Clean gums regularly.
Rubbing your childs gums with a cloth will not only clean away bacteria, it'll also soothe them as well. Using a cloth on their gums should be done daily until their teeth come in and you transition to a toothbrush.

Chew away.
When a child is teething, they will chew on absolutely anything they can get their hands on. Your initial reaction may be to want to stop this, however, this is natural and soothing. Teething toys are widely available and should be accessible to your little ones at all time.

Massage gums.
If teething toys, biscuits and rubbing with a cloth doesn't seem to work, it may be time to give your little one a massage on their gums. Choose the area where you feel a tooth coming in and rub with your finger for two minutes. This will relax them and alleviate pain even just temporarily.

Turn to the medicine cabinet.
If you come to find nothing is working to ease your child's discomfort, it might be time to take a trip to the local drugstore and pickup children's tylenol or advil. Be sure to consult your child's doctor to check for dosage amounts.
