Holidays are a time for snacking on sweet and sugary treats.
Don’t let this holiday season harm your little ones smile. There are plenty of ways
your children can enjoy the deliciousness of the holiday season while still
keeping their little mouths healthy!
Below are a few tips on how to help your kids keep their
teeth in tip top shape for their next checkup!
- When setting up your holiday appetizers, be sure to put out
snacks such as whole grain crackers, cheese, fruit or raw vegetables for your kids
to snack on before the big dinner.
- When making your child’s dinner plate up, try to fill it up
with vegetables and salad before adding any extras. The more color on the
plate, the better!
- Eating holiday sweet treats is OK in moderation. Let your
child enjoy, but keep an eye out on how many cookies and other baked goods they’re
consuming throughout the day.
- Try to encourage your child to drink water throughout the
day instead of overindulging on soda or other sugary fruit juices that can be
damaging to their teeth.
