Schools and classrooms act as breeding grounds for germs and
bacteria. Taking the time to clean and
replace your child’s toothbrush regularly can help reduce the spreading of
germs that can cause illness.
- Do not let toothbrushes touch each other when stored. Use a
standard toothbrush holder with individual slots.
- Change your child's toothbrush every three months even if the
bristles aren't completely worn out.
This will allow the brush to effectively remove plaque from the teeth.
- Change your child's toothbrush after they've had a cold or any other illness. Germs hidden in the bristles can cause
reinfection.
- When traveling, use a plastic toothbrush case to hold your child's toothbrush. Just make sure to let it completely dry after use before restoring in the case.
