Is your child approaching his or her first birthday? Then it's time to schedule an appointment for their first dentist visit! At Pediatric Dentistry of Suffolk County, we recommend bringing your child to the dentist by the time they reach one year of age. By introducing them to the dentist while they are still so young, you help instill good dental hygiene habits and work to alleviate any fear of the dentist that might have developed later.
Check out our YouTube video below to learn more about when you should start taking your child to the dentist and why:
Since a first trip to the dentist can be scary for both you and your child, we invite our patient's parents to stay with them during their first exam. Moving forward, we suggest waiting for your child in the waiting room so that our staff can build a relationship with them and help ease their nerves for future visits.
